Improve living standard of Edo people, Tinubu tells Governor Okpebholo

President Bola Tinubu has called on the newly sworn-in governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo to ensure that he prioritizes the living standard of the people of the state.

In a statement released shortly after the governor’s swearing-in ceremony, Tinubu called for focused leadership and a commitment to significantly improving residents’ quality of life in Edo State.

He said, “I call on you to diligently work to enhance the living standards of the people of Edo State and make a meaningful impact during your tenure,” Tinubu said in his congratulatory message signed by Bayo Onanuga.

Okpebholo (APC) who succeeded Godwin Obaseki (PDP) as governor was sworn in by the Edo State chief justice on Tuesday, November 12.

Speaking on the return of APC to the state after the tenure of Adams Oshiomhole, the president said Okpebholo’s administration must justify the confidence placed in him and the party by the people.

This, he said this can be achieved by fostering true democracy and effective governance in the state.

He added, “A strong and independent legislature is essential for achieving democratic good governance.”
