Insurgency: Stakeholders praise Buhari for enhanced security in North East

some stakeholders in North East have applauded the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari’s government for reducing insurgents and enhancing the security situation in the region.

The report has it that a cross-section of the stakeholders who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states known as the worst affected states by the insurgency, announced that the government merited applause in the area of security.

The report claims that they lauded the military and other security agencies for doing a decent job in actualizing the dream of the people and advised forthcoming government at all levels to maintain the tempo for absolute normalcy and unity.

“As a driver following roads in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, and Bauchi, things have enhanced for the better”, Samaila Ibrahim, a commercial bus driver, said.

“No more occurrences of assaults and kidnapping on the highway by insurgents and there is a drastic decrease of security checkpoints as things continue to enhance”, he added.

The report adds that Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, the focal point of the insurgency who spoke on the gradual return of unity and normality in the state while presenting this year’s budget, announced that more people were gaining entry to farms in affected areas of the state.

The report further adds that Zulum praised the Buhari government for its dedication to peace in North East, especially Borno, which was given special attention through kinetic and non-kinetic approaches that steered the endless mass surrender of insurgents.
