The spokesman of the Rivers APC Campaign Council, Sogbeye Eli, has expressed concern while alleging that the APC in Rivers State is being sacrificed. In his interview, Eli spoke about why such a thing could be happening despite the influence of Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister in the party.

Addressing the topic, Sogbeye said, “The untrue news that the governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, withdrew his petition against the Wike-led PDP in Rivers State is unsurprising to us. The APC in Rivers has always been the sacrificial lamb of the APC in Nigeria. I say this with a broken heart.
He added, “People have often sabotaged the APC in Rivers State for reasons such as conflicting political pleasures. In 2015, no state chapter lost human beings to political attacks like we did in Rivers State. Those in Port Harcourt at the time can testify to this. Something similar happened in 2019, and 2023 is not different.
