Nigerian TikTok star and AI content creator Jarvis has shared her thoughts on the now-viral moment from her registry wedding with fellow content creator Peller, revealing that one particular warning from the ceremony has remained on her mind.
The couple recently attracted widespread attention after a clip from their registry wedding surfaced online. In the video, the officiating registrar explained the legal implications of bigamy, stating that anyone found guilty of the offence could face a minimum prison sentence of five years without the option of paying a fine.
Reacting to the clip, Jarvis admitted that hearing the warning again while watching their wedding videos made her stop and reflect.
“I don’t know how to do that thing. Hey, hey. That was five years imprisonment or something. I swear to God. I was just thinking about it just now because I just saw the video again,” she said.
She noted that she had been enjoying the beautiful memories from their special day until she reached the part where the legal warning was mentioned.
“Like, you know, I’m going through the videos and I’m like, I’m blushing but when I go to that one, joke apart. I had to think about it again,” she added.
Curious about the law, Jarvis wondered whether the punishment applied only to husbands or to both spouses.
“That’s five years imprisonment pls. Is it for the men only? Or is it for the two of us?” she asked.
She also explained that Peller’s reaction during the ceremony made her believe, even if only briefly, that the law might be directed at men.
“Because I feel like… I feel like for my man (Peller) to react, maybe it’s for the men only. Maybe it’s not for the two of us.”
Despite her playful speculation, Jarvis quickly brushed aside any negative thoughts and prayed for God’s protection over their union.
“Nothing will happen in Jesus. God forbid. I rebuke and I cast. In the name of Jesus,” she declared.
