The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has taken decisive measures in the wake of the untimely passing of actor Junior Pope and three others, suspending the shooting of movies in riverine areas indefinitely.
AGN has also imposed a ban on actors collaborating with Adanma Luke, the producer of the ill-fated movie that resulted in the tragic accident.
Filmmaker Sam Olatunji revealed on Wednesday the heartbreaking news of Junior Pope’s demise, along with three companions, when their boat capsized during an attempt to cross the River Niger for a film shoot.
AGN President Emeka Rollas, in a statement released on Thursday, declared, “No actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice.”
“May their souls rest in peace,” he said.
