JUST IN: Akeredolu’s Ex-Deputy Joins Race, Vows To Unseat Gov Aiyedatiwa

Former Ondo Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, who served under late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during his first term, has expressed confidence in securing victory in today’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary.

Ajayi stands among seven aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the upcoming November governorship race.

With 627 delegates set to cast their votes, Ajayi, in a conversation with journalists on Thursday, emphasized his extensive campaigning efforts across the state’s 18 local government areas, highlighting why he remains the prime choice to displace the APC from power. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the candidate of the ruling APC for the Ondo State governorship election.

However, Ajayi asserted, “You can see that the APC is already a divided house. The PDP needs a strong candidate like myself to secure victory.”

He expressed firm belief in clinching the primary, citing his proven political acumen to uplift the state and ensure the populace’s happiness. “I am very optimistic of winning today’s primary,” Ajayi affirmed. “I have told the delegates my vision and mission, and they know that I know how to take care of party members. They know I can make everybody happy.”

He outlined his plans for infrastructure development in riverine communities, job creation, and enhancing the quality of life for the people of Ondo.
