JUST IN: Army Raids IPOB’s ‘Spiritual Shrine’ In Ebonyi; Destroys Idols, Recovers Ammunitions

On Thursday, 21st March 2024, troops of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force in conjunction with personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), successfully conducted a raid operation on the ‘spiritual camp’ of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to MayerReport, the spiritual camp is located at Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

During the operation, the Nigerian Army said its troops neutralized one IPOB member while others fled into the nearby forests.

Idols, charms were destroyed during the raid. Items recovered include; One x AK-47 rifle, 2 x AK-47 magazines, 54 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and 3 x stolen Sienna buses.

The Force Commander Joint Task Force South Operation UDO KA, Major General HT Dada appreciated the synergy among the troops and other security agencies.

He noted that all law abiding citizens of South East Nigeria are all enjoined to continually provide timely, reliable and credible information through the Emergency Line 193 and then press Option 2 to speak to a call centre representative.

In the same vein last week, the Nigerian Army troops in conjunction with hybrid force elements successfully raided and destroyed IPOB/ ESN Fighters’ fire arms production factory located between Ekoli Edda and Amagwu Ohafia communities in Abia and Ebonyi States respectively.

According to MayerReport, the dissidents’ camp, which was used for fabricating fire arms and production of ammunition was fortified with charms, placed inside a calabash pot that was also destroyed.

The publication revealed that the names of IPOB leaders including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu were found inside the pot.
