The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on a seven- month industrial strike; on Monday (today), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) stormed Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to exert pressure on the government to put a stop to it.

Following the ongoing protest by the Nigerian students, the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU has stated that it is in support of the movement and appreciated the students for standing up for their rights.

Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of the University and other stakeholders will meet with the House of Representatives to discuss a long- term solution to the union’ s ongoing strike. See details of this and more below!

In order to put pressure on the government to end the seven- month industrial strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) stormed Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Monday, according to the Daily Post.

Remember that the student body had previously threatened to halt operations at municipal and international airports across the nation starting on Monday owing to the walkout.
