JUST IN: PDP BoT Storms Bauchi Amid Party Crisis In Rivers State [PHOTOS]

Amid the crisis rocking the party, the Board of Trustees, BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, stormed Bauchi State.

The BoT which was led by its Chairman and Former Senate President, Dr. Adolphus Wabara was hosted by the Bauchi State Governor and Chairman, PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed at the Government House, Bauchi.

According to Governor Bala Mohammed, the visit focused on addressing the current challenges facing the party and as well acknowledging the pivotal role he has played in restoring stability and unity within the PDP.

“During our discussions, Dr. Wabara voiced deep concerns regarding the state of the Party, particularly with respect to the internal issues within the National Working Committee (NWC) and the ongoing crisis in Rivers State,” the governor said in a statement.

“He commended the developmental strides we have made in Bauchi and underscored my crucial role in unifying the PDP. As the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, I was recognized for my efforts in fostering reconciliation and ensuring sustainable growth within the party.

“In response, I reaffirmed my unwavering commitment to the success and unity of the PDP. I expressed my gratitude to both the BoT and the NWC for their diligent efforts in addressing the party’s internal difficulties.

“I assured the BoT of my continued dedication to the objectives of the PDP Governors’ Forum and to the ongoing work of strengthening our party.

“I am truly thankful for this visit, and I stand firmly with our leadership as we work together to resolve internal disputes and promote solidarity within the PDP.

“The meeting concluded with a closed-door session, where we reaffirmed our collective commitment to addressing the challenges ahead and advancing toward a stronger, more united party.”

Recall that the party has been embroiled in an internal crisis over supremacy battle between the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and the incumbent Governor of Rivers, Siminalayi Fubara.

The PDP Governors’ Forum had called for the cancellation of the ward and local government congresses in the South-South state that handed the party’s structure to Wike instead of Fubara, the sitting governor.

This call prompted Wike to issue a warning to the forum not to interfere in Rivers PDP issues or he would “put fire in their states.”
