Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State says Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has a “very high” chance of victory in the North-East in theforthcoming 2023 election.
According to NAN, Governor Yahaya spoke on Saturday after visiting Abdulsalami Abubakar and Ibrahim Babangida, former Heads of State, in Minna, Niger state.
According to the Cable, the North-East is a hotly-contested geo-political zone ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu selected Kashim Shettima, former Governor of Borno State, as his running mate but the duo would be contending for votes from the zone with Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who also has a strong sway in the North-East.
Speaking on the issue, Yahaya said Atiku’s influence matters little, adding that the APC will win in the geopolitical zone.
He said, “Our chances in the North-East are very high indeed.
Inuwa and Tinubu
“We are strong in our resolve to win the 2023 general elections and we shall succeed.
“It does not matter that the PDP presidential candidate is from North-East. Both Tinubu and Atiku are my brothers.
“Nigeria is one and we are struggling to maintain it as a united and indivisible country.
