Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has announced his plans to reshuffle the state executive cabinet.
The governor said the move is aimed at bringing in new talent with the skills and dedication necessary to drive the state’s development forward.
Governor Yusuf made the disclosure on Friday at the government house while confirming the receipt of the report of the committee on the performance of cabinet members.
He assured the public that his decisions on the reshuffle would be seen soon and that his administration was determined to meet the expectations of the people.
The governor also reminded the public that none of his current commissioners were appointed through lobbying. Instead, he chose them based on their experience, integrity, and qualifications, after thorough consultations. He noted that he expects loyalty to his leadership, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
His words, “What I expected from the commissioners is obedience to my humble self, to the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, in addition to dedication to duty and to come up with good initiatives for the development of the state.”
Addressing issues of poverty, Governor Yusuf said there are ongoing efforts to help citizens cope with economic challenges, especially after the removal of the fuel subsidy. According to him, the state has been distributing free food items to residents in both urban and rural areas. This initiative, he said, aims to ease the financial burden on families.
