Killings in Nigeria: Orji Kalu Says Donald Trump Spoke the Truth

Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that United States President Donald Trump spoke the truth in his remarks about genocidal attacks on Nigerians by terrorists.

He noted that there was no denying the fact that thousands of Nigerians had lost their lives to violent attacks by terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers.

Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly a few minutes ago, Kalu clarified that the casualties had included both Christians and Muslims. He stressed that what mattered most was for the Nigerian government to take decisive security measures to stop the killings.

“Donald Trump spoke the truth; Nigerians are being killed. Whether they are Christians or Muslims, they are Nigerians,” he said.

According to Kalu, when such attacks occur in far northern states like Zamfara, Katsina, and Jigawa, where there is a high Muslim population, most victims are Muslims. Conversely, in states like Benue and Plateau, which are predominantly Christian, most victims tend to be Christians.

“Before Donald Trump spoke, the American intelligence community must have found out where these people are residing,” Kalu said, urging the Federal Government and the Nigerian military to sustain ongoing operations against insurgency and banditry across the country.
