Kogi Govt Deploys Rescue Team and Helicopter After Worshippers Abducted

Kogi State Government has deployed a surveillance helicopter and anti-kidnapping squad of the state’s Police Command for rescue of the worshippers abducted by armed bandits on Sunday.

NPO Reported that the gunmen had in the early hours of Sunday stormed a Cherubim and Seraphim church in Ejiba community, Yagba West Local Government Area of the state.

They abducted the church’s Pastor, his wife, and unconfirmed number of worshippers.

The incident had thrown the community into chaos, with people running shelter-skelter in search of a safe place to hide.

A now viral video shared on X by one of the residents showed the church located in a dense bushy area deserted few minutes after the attack.

While the state government had confirmed the incident, it assured members of the community of rescuing the kidnapped victims.

As part of the move in ensuring the rescue of the victims, the Kogi government deployed the helicopter to the community.
