Lagos High Court Orders Arrest Of Redeemed Pastor, Deacon Over Land Grabbing

Lagos, Nigeria – An Ikeja High Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Deacon Jide Durojaye and Pastor Wale Adejoru, both members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, along with Ibrahim Baba Madaki and Legrande Properties Development Company. The arrest warrants stem from charges of conspiracy, forcible entry, forcible possession, and willful damage to property, offenses that contravene the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.

The charges were brought by the Inspector General of Police following a petition by Mr. Kingsley Osiegbu. Mr. Osiegbu alleged that the accused individuals trespassed on his property in Songotedo town, Ibeju Lekki, carting away valuables such as a smartphone, iron gate, and sand, and forcibly taking possession of the land.

During a court hearing on December 12, 2024, before Justice Abike Fadipe, the prosecution, represented by Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed, informed the court that the defendants had failed to appear despite being served with court documents. Mr. Mohammed subsequently applied for a bench warrant for their arrest, which the judge granted.

The case has been adjourned to February 6, 2025.
