Lagos PDP Chairman Abducted on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, One Hostage Deceased.

Travellers, including Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, were abducted by kidnappers on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, according to reports on Friday.

According to Daily Post, Police intervention led to the release of nine out of ten hostages, leaving only the PDP chairman in captivity, stated Odutola, the police spokesperson.

During the abduction, a White Mazda Bus (LSR 288 XE) was slightly damaged, and several individuals sustained non-life-threatening bullet injuries while attempting to escape.

Regrettably, Bilikisu Kazeem, aged 37, succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital.

However, Odutola confirmed the recovery of one AK47 magazine with 28 live ammunition believed to belong to the kidnappers, along with handsets and a car key at the scene.

It was also reported that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations has initiated joint operations with other security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted PDP chairman, emphasized Odutola.
