Lai Mohammed bags international advocacy job

The former Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Lai Mohammed has been selected as the managing partner of Ballard Partners, a global lobbying organisation.

The appointment was made not long after the previous President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet was dissolved, owing to the emergence of a new leadership in the country.

Mohammed’s new appointment was formally announced on Tuesday via a statement shared on Ballard Partner’s official Twitter account.

The statement read: “Ballard Partners, one of the top government relations firms in the United States, is opening its first office in Africa in Abuja, Nigeria, the nation’s capital.

“Lai Mohammed, the immediate past Nigeria minister of information and culture, will serve as the managing partner of the Abuja office and the firm’s satellite office in Lagos, the nation’s financial centre.”

Lai Mohammed was appointed to the position, according to the firm’s president, because he “is one of the most respected officials in the country”.
