Leaked Audio: FG Breaks Silence on Peter Obi’s Alleged Audio, Tells Him To Clarify His Position

The Federal Government has challenged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to clarify his position on a leaked audio of the conversation he allegedly had with the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo.

On Monday in London, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, addressed the media and urged Peter Obi to clarify his statement regarding the leaked conversation being “a fake doctored audio call.”

Mohammed drew attention to the leaked conversation between the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and a cleric, which has caused concern among Nigerians. According to Mohammed, the leaked audio features Obi requesting that the cleric intervene on his behalf by persuading Christians that the current conflict is a religious war and that they should support him.

The minister noted that following the release of the leaked audio, Obi claimed that it was a “fake, doctored audio call.”

The minister further elaborated, stating that if the audio was indeed fake, it would mean that the conversation never occurred. However, if it was doctored, it would imply that the conversation happened, but it was edited or manipulated.

Therefore, the minister requested that Obi provide clarification on whether the conversation between him and the cleric actually took place or not, and if it did, whether the audio was manipulated.

The minister also inquired, “If it was doctored, which specific parts were edited? Was it the beginning, middle, or end of the conversation? Or was it the part where he said ‘Yes Daddy’ or claimed it was a religious war?”

Mohammed claimed that the leaked audio supported the belief that Obi’s election campaign relied heavily on religious and ethnic factors.
