Lukaku surpasses Ronaldo on the Top Scorers list with four goals

In the Euro 2024 Qualifiers, Belgium defeated Azerbaijan 5 goals to 0 thanks to four goals from AS Roma’s Romelu Lukaku.

In the first half, the 30-year-old needed only 30 minutes to complete his hattrick. In the 17th and 26th minutes, respectively, he scored his first goal and his second and third. After that, Lukaku added the fourth goal in the 37th minute, and the home team easily won 4-0 at the half. Leandro Trossard completed the sweep in the second half by scoring the fifth goal in the ninetieth minute.

The former Manchester United forward has now scored 83 international goals in his career and his four goals against Azerbaijan today saw him overtake Cristiano Ronaldo on the Euro 2024 Top Scorers list.

Interestingly, Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ferenc Puskas are the only European men to have scored more goals than Romelu Lukaku in senior international football history.
