The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has demanded the state governors to provide grazing reserves designated for herders in the 1960s.

The demand was made by the MACBAN President, Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, during an interview with the Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Wednesday.

He further stated that the provision of grazing reserves, especially the northern states, would address the clashes between farmers and herders.

Recall that former president Muhammadu Buhari attempted to make it possible for governors to provide grazing reserves for herders, but it failed.

Only a few governors in the northern states of the federation complied with the order, while some states, especially in the south, refused to comply.
