Professional wrestling legend and future WWE Hall of Famer Matt Hardy who is a former 11 times Tag Team champion in WWE recently talked about his brother Jeff Hardy’s relationship with Vince McMahon who was the owner of WWE.
When Jeff Hardy started his professional wrestling career under WWE he was mostly treated as a tag team wrestler along with his brother Matt Hardy. But after he left WWE in 2003 and returned to the promotion after a number of years WWE started to treat him as a solo wrestler and this was the best time period of his career. He has been treated as a constant main eventer and he won a total of three World Championships in WWE.
Matt Hardy Talks About The Relationship Between Jeff Hardy and Vince McMahon
In 2010 he left WWE to join TNA Wrestling and after an amazing spell with the promotion he returned to WWE in 2017. On his first match he won the WWE Raw Tag Team championships. At first he was treated as a mid card after his return.
Apart from the RAW Tag Team championships, he won the WWE United States Championship one time and the WWE Intercontinental championship one time as well. Time was not going very bad for him in WWE.
But from 2021 he was shockingly dropped to a jobber status. He started to lose back to back matches and kept on jobbing to almost everyone. He even lost to the C show of WWE which is the WWE Main Event.
In late 2021 he was released from WWE and joined their rival promotion AEW where he teamed up with his brother Matt Hardy. But this dream run could not continue for long as he got arrested by the police. He has recently been released and soon he will return to AEW.
Matt Hardy who is a former 11 times Tag Team champion in WWE recently spoke on his “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast where he talked about his brother Jeff Hardy’s relationship with Vince McMahon who was the owner of WWE. He said;
“I think Vince liked Jeff a lot. He could tell he was different. He was out there. I mean, when people say charismatic enigma, that is like the perfect description of who he is because he’s like this guy who’s like, overflowing with charisma. He’s also so enigmatic, like, you don’t understand why he’s doing what he’s doing, but it’s just fu**ing cool that he’s doing it. You know, it’s just, he has a very interesting dynamic.
“I think Vince saw a lot of his personality shining through and saw, hey, I like that Rock star complex. He’s like the most humble guy you’ll ever meet. He’s the nicest guy. He would give anybody the shirt off his back. But in his head, he’s like, f*ck, man. I’m like a Rock star. I’m Jeff Hardy. I think that is in the back of his mind, and he just acts that way. So that’s why he just comes off so cool all the time. I think Vince picked that up right off the jump and that attracted him to Jeff.”
