Singer Mayorkun has spoken on his current relationship with his former boss, Davido.
In the most recent episode of the actor Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, nicknamed Taymesan, podcast, the singer talked about their relationship.
Remember that after being signed by the artist in 2016, Mayorkun departed DMW, Davido’s record company, in 2021.
He claims that just because he doesn’t post about the artist doesn’t indicate that they have a falling out; in reality, the singer is his closest buddy.
He was also quick to point out to the fans that “they always forget it’s not their relationship” and that’s what generates false rumors.
He said, “Contrary to what other people think, I have one of the best relationships with Davido. I feel like he knows me and he understands the kind of person I am. If I dey vex for am now, he knows… Like do you understand? I’m not that difficult of a human being.
“It’s just that I’m not posting Davido everyday, saying his my best friend that’s why some people think we are not cool. The relationship is not for you [fans]. You always forget that.”
Recall that Mayorkun came into the spotlight in 2016 after he released a cover of Davido’s ‘The Money’ single which featured Olamide and was discovered by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).
Davido signed him to his record label, DMW, where he released his debut single, ‘Eleko’ and became an instant star.
