More Trouble For Yahaya Bello As EFCC Boss Vows To Expose Their Phone Conversation

Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has affirmed his unwavering commitment to overseeing the investigation into former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

Olukoyede has gone to the extent of pledging to resign if he fails to personally conclude the inquiry. He has stated that he contacted Bello directly, extending respect and requesting his cooperation in addressing the charges against him. However, Bello declined the invitation.

Speaking to reporters at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja, Olukoyede emphasized the need for public support in the commission’s anti-corruption efforts. He stressed that the success of the EFCC is crucial for Nigeria’s reputation globally.

Olukoyede highlighted the positive impact of the EFCC’s initiatives, including the appreciation of the Naira and the improvement in the foreign exchange market.

The EFCC has filed 19 counts of alleged financial crimes against Bello, including money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of N80.2 billion. Olukoyede reiterated the commission’s determination to prosecute Bello and hold accountable anyone who obstructs his arrest.
