Mother of Baptist Student Kidnapped Explains How Hunters Aided His Escape Following Two Years of Captivity

Janet Peter, the mother of Treasure Ayuba who was among the 121 students of Bethel Baptist Highschool in Kaduna that were kidnapped has disclosed how her son escaped after two years in captivity.

In a video recently shared on YouTube by Daily Trust TV, Janet said her son told her that after he managed to escape from his kidnappers, he hid in the bushes to avoid being seen by them. She said he disclosed that while in the bush, he encountered a group of hunters who asked him where he came from, and he explained everything that had happened to him. Janet said thereafter, the hunters took her son and put him in a car that took him to a popular market in Kaduna, and from there he was able to locate his way back home.

In Janet’s words: “He told me that he managed to escape and he tried to hide from the people in the bush. He said early in the morning he saw some hunters going into the bush and they asked him where he was coming from and he explained everything to them. Then they asked him where he was staying and he said Refinery Junction then they looked for a car that would bring him back to Kaduna and told the driver to help him locate his house. When he got to Sabon Gari Market he took a tricycle to the house”.
