My Legal team will prove election was fraudulent — Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, has vowed that his legal team will demonstrate that the 2023 election was rigged.

Atiku responded to the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to deny Kashim Shettima’s request to be disqualified as the All Progressives Congress’ vice presidential nominee due to a conflict of interest with another candidate.

A five-member panel of the supreme court ruled, according to PUNCH, that the Peoples Democratic Party lacked locus standi to bring the lawsuit. The panel concluded that the PDP is not an APC member.

Atiku responded to the decision by restating that his legal team will do whatever it took to show that the 2023 presidential election was rigged.

Through his own Twitter account, he announced this.

He declared, “My pursuit of justice has not been hampered by the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the case of the @OfficialPDPNig. Our legal team is prepared to convincingly demonstrate that the February 25 election was rigged, did not adhere to the Constitution’s requirements and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (@inecnigeria) electoral guidelines, and that the declared winner was not even eligible to contest the election.

“I have given me all in the fight for democracy and the installation of a new system to promote growth and development in Nigeria, and at this juncture, when our country is at a turning point, I’m not ready to give up. We are confident that our great Justices will provide the ruling that will serve as a dignified requiem for mandate bandits sooner rather than later.

“I request patience from my followers and ask that they keep calm as we rigorously pursue our legal action at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court.
