When the transfer market opens, the Manchester United football team, led by manager Erik ten Hag, will undoubtedly still be eager to add to their defensive lineup.
Recall that the Old Trafford team was very busy during the summer transfer window, having signed Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund a few months prior.
However, the Manchester United football team was unable to acquire any new defenders in the summer, and now that they have already given up 30 goals this season, the Red Devils are searching for defensive reinforcements.
And if reports are anything to go by, then Manchester United football club have now been linked with a move for experienced Bayer Leverkusen central defender Jonathan Tah when the window opens.
The 27-year-old Germany International, who signed up for Bayer Leverkusen after departing Hamburger SV back in 2015 has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.
The experienced centre-back was hugely involved for Bayer Leverkusen during the 2022/2023 football season where he scored one goal in 47 appearances in all competitions.
Jonathan Tah has also continued in his impressive form for Bayer Leverkusen so far this season, scoring four goals in 16 matches to help his side to first position on the Bundesliga table.
His excellent performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Manchester United and according to today’s reports from Transfer News Live, the Red Devils are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Manchester United are really interested in Jonathan Tah ahead of the January transfer window and are prepared to rival fellow Premier League side Newcastle United in the race to sign him.
It is believed that Manchester United manager wants to add more stability to his defensive options and he has recently identified the experienced Jonathan Tah as a needed addition to his squad.
And with Jonathan Tah currently valued at £20milion, it remains to be seen where the experienced defender will choose to continue his football career if he eventually gets to leave Bayer Leverkusen in 2024.
