Nigerians React to Kwara Church Attack Linked to Pastor Jerry Eze

Several Nigerians have taken to the Internet to air their grievances on the gunmen attack on a church in Kwara.

It was earlier reported that armed assailants raided a Christ Apostolic Church branch in Odo-Ijesa, Eruku, Ekiti LGA of Kwara State on Tuesday evening, killing three worshippers and abducting the Pastor and an unspecified number of members.

The lives-stream footage of the service, capturing the moment gunshots rang out and worshippers scattered has since gone viral, drawing different reactions from concerned Nigerians.

User @Onosetalee said: “So many killings. Before you digest one, another has happened.

People’s lives are being upturned and we just keep moving like it’s a regular day.”

Another user @MinzNSE quipped: “IT IS DELUSIONAL TO THINK YOU’RE SAFE FROM ANY OF THIS BTW.”

Celebrity and influencer Enioluwa said: “That livestream put it into reality for so many of us. The reality that it can happen to anyone. I am not special. You’re not special.

Pastor Jerry Eze of the NSPPD movement posted on X:

“About time , GOD OF JUDGEMENT SPARE NO ENEMY OF NIGERIA AND THEIR SPONSORS IN JESUS NAME . Enough is Enough of this Banditry, Terrorism and Wickedness . FIRE ”

Other Pastors and Ministers including Dunsin Oyekan, Nathaniel Bassey, Emmanuel Iren and many others have also spoken up on the attack.

Meanwhile, more information from the Police and Kwara State on the matter is yet to come, although Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adetoun, confirmed that police operatives had been deployed to the area but said details were still being gathered as of Wednesday morning.
