No amount of protest can stop me from removing subsidy – Tinubu

All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said that he will surely remove subsidy on petroleum products if he gets elected.

He said it was unwise to be subsidising fuel for someone who had four cars, just as he said continuing the policy meant subsidising fuel for neighbouring countries like Niger, Chad and Benin Republic.

He made this known in Lagos on Thursday during a meeting with business executives, the majority of whom are young entrepreneurs.

He said, “The era of subsidy is gone. The era is not now. Other economies are already building charged stations. We have yet to generate electricity to even roast booli.”
