No Land For Herders In Yorubaland; Anyone Found Will Be Driven Out, Southwest Youth Group Disclosed to Tinubu

The young people of the South-West region of Nigeria have pledged to use every effort to thwart President Bola Tinubu’s order to state governors to provide grazing grounds for herdsmen.

President Tinubu reportedly requested that state governors allow herders access to grazing areas, stressing that doing so would end the violent clashes between farmers and herders that cause agricultural productivity loss and fatalities. This information was reported by Sahara Reporters.

He also asked the governors to give workers wage awards in order to lessen the hunger and suffering of the sizable people.

Fulani herdsmen are “murderers, rapists, and national thieves,” according to a statement released on Wednesday by Comrade Oyegunle Oluwamayowa Omotoyole, the Yoruba Nation’s Southwest Youth Leader.

According to Omotoyole, the herders have a reputation for rape rates that are high, sexual harassment, obtaining dangerous weapons and arms, deteriorating the quality of social ties within the community, and a decline in social support.

“We are aware of your recent speech where you said that each state governor in Nigeria should find land for Fulani herdsmen to graze their cattle in their state in order for peace to reign in Nigeria,” Omotoyole said, declaring that the youths of the South-West would stop at nothing to prevent Fulani herders from receiving grazing land in the area.

“Permit me to remind you, sir. It’s possible that you have swiftly forgotten the harm that these herders have caused to our farmers in Yoruba country in the Southwest. There has been a significant and tragic loss of life as a result of these herdsmen.
