No Manu, No Ugbade as Golden Eaglets set for fresh break

Should the position of the NFF technical committee be respected, both Manu Garba and Nduka Ugbade will not return to their former jobs as head coach of the Golden Eaglets.

Both Manu and Ugbade have applied to lead the country’s U17 team again. Manu has since 2005 been involved with the Eaglets and even led them to win a fourth FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013.

Ugbade, on the other hand, was for many years a loyal assistant of Manu until he was appointed head coach of the team two years ago.

However, in his first stint as head coach of the five-time world champions failed to even qualify for the World Cup. “Both men ought to have moved on,” a source told SCORENigeria

“If they don’t want to move on, we as a country ought to. “Why couldn’t they apply for the Super Eagles position?

“There is a need for a fresh break at the top of this team.”.
