The Lagos state government has issued a demand to Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, instructing her to settle her personal income tax debt totalling N18,640,092.00 within seven days. The government claims that Iyabo Ojo is liable for a tax amount of N7,376,000.00 for the year 2022, along with an additional outstanding liability of N11,264,092 for the income year 2021. If she fails to comply with the payment within the specified timeframe, she will face consequences as outlined by the government.
In response to the communication from the government, Iyabo Ojo raised concerns about the process used to determine the tax amount being demanded. The actress expressed disagreement with the methodology employed and indicated that she is unwilling to fulfil the payment request. Additionally, she boldly stated her readiness to face the possibility of arrest rather than comply with the given ultimatum.
