Nyesom Wike said of Amaechi, “Did He Make Me Governor In 2015? He Fought Me Even As A Minister.”

Referencing his tense relationship with his former boss, Rotimi Amaechi, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, asserted that the ongoing dispute with Governor Siminalayi Fubara is not an instance of “what goes around, comes around”.

Amaechi allegedly took steps to disqualify Wike while he was a minister, according to Wike, who claimed that Amaechi had no role in his election as governor in 2015. In closing, Wike reaffirmed his determination to protect and preserve his political power and system in Rivers State. This declaration reveals Wike’s viewpoint on the nature of his political connections and his resolve to overcome the obstacles at hand.

He said, “I was the one that laid the work for me to be Governor. Even after making me minister, he [Amaechi] went back to disqualify me. Did he [Amaechi] make me governor in 2015, he fought me even as a minister. But the point I’m making is that I’m comfortable. Ahmed Bola Tinubu did not give me minister, he gave me minister of FCT. What am I looking for?”
