OAU Student: Hilton Hotel Receptionist Sentenced To Two Years Imprisonment

Adedeji Adesola, the receptionist at Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, that attended to Timothy Adegoke, ex-masters student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has been sentenced to two years imprisonment.

According to punchng.com, Adepele Ojo, the Chief Judge of Osun State High Court, delivered the judgement today.

She was found guilty of conspiracy to fabricate evidence and conceal the fact that the late student lodged at the hotel before he was murdered.

Her counsel, Okon Ita, pleaded for leniency that made the court delayed her sentence until today.

The hotelier, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin and two of his staff, Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem were sentenced to death by hanging yesterday.

Justice Ojo while delivering judgement, noted that the counsel to the receptionist pleaded for leniency and the provision of Section 411 of the Constitution.

She has considered the passionate plea of the 7th defendant and the submission of the prosecution on the need to temper justice with mercy.

In addition, being mindful of the circumstances surrounding the case of the seventh defendant. She is mindful of the provisions of the law and hereby sentenced Adedeji Adesola to two years Imprisonment starting from the first day she was arrested.
