Obama’s former staff accused of child sex offences

A former senior policy advisor who worked for the Obama administration is facing serious charges of child sex offences in a British court.

Rahamim ‘Rami’ Shy, 46, is accused of arranging for child sex and possessing indecent images of children.

Shy, a US citizen living in New Jersey, appeared in court via video-link from prison, wearing a grey tracksuit. He didn’t enter a plea and remained in custody until his next hearing in June.

His career includes working for the White House under President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He also had roles in strategic policy analysis for the US Department of Defence.

Shy’s expertise led him to Afghanistan, where he advised on counter-terrorism financing. Despite his past accomplishments, he now faces serious legal consequences.

His trial is scheduled for August, and his former employer, Citi, confirmed he’s no longer with the company. The case has shocked many, given Shy’s high-profile career and the severity of the charges against him.
