Ododo, Bello condole ex-Kogi gov on son’s death

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo and the former governor, Alhaji Yayaha Bello, have expressed their condolences to a former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, following the death of his son, Muhammed.

Muhammad previously served as a representative in the House of Representatives for the Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency.

In a letter of condolence addressed to his Special Advisor on Media, Ismaila Isah, Ododo called the late federal lawmaker’s passing “tragic.”

The late Muhammad was referred to by the governor as an older brother who he had found to be “a worthy compatriot.” The governor also mentioned that the last time they had met was in March 2024, when he visited him as governor in the company of Omala Local Government area stakeholders. During their visit, they had fruitful discussions about plans for the state’s development.

The governor advised the family to find comfort in the knowledge that the deceased was a respected politician and businessman who led a life full of honorable achievements.

Ododo prayed to Allah for the former legislator’s family to have the strength to endure the loss and for him to have eternal rest.

Bello also expressed his condolences, saying, “I remember the late lawmaker as a progressive politician and a proud ambassador of the state, who navigated the political landscape with fairness and integrity.”

Bello offered consolation to Ibrahim Idris, the bereaved father, highlighting Mohammed’s peaceful life and his role as a bright role model for others.

Bello prayed to Allah to grant the deceased soul eternal peace, while encouraging the family to take solace in Mohammed’s profound legacy.

Mohammed, who was born on December 8, 1969, served as the federal representative for Ankpa, Olamaboro, and Omala from 2011 to 2015.

At the age of fifty-five, he passed away in Abuja on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
