A former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Abiodun Ogunbi, has commended the Minister for Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over the latter’s performance in office in 2025.
Ogunbi, who represented Akoko South-West Constituency 2 in the Assembly between 2007 and 2011, described the appointment of Tunji-Ojo by President Bola Tinubu as a round peg in a round hole.

Ogunbi said that Tunji-Ojo’s performance since the assumption of office was exceptional and transformational, stating that the efforts of the minister restored public trust in the Nigeria Immigration Service and streamlined services for Nigerians at home and abroad.
He said, “Collaborations with the Ministry of Defence, the office of the National Security Advisor, and the State Security Services have strengthened national security coordination.
“The integration of the National Identity Management Commission under Tunji-Ojo’s ministry improved staff welfare, and the presidential approval to recruit 30,000 personnel into paramilitary agencies is commendable.”
