Ondo: Impeachment Process Against Me Unwarranted

In his televised address to the people of Ondo State, Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa expressed his belief that the impeachment process initiated against him was unnecessary and could have been avoided.

He acknowledged that this process had hindered the functioning of the government in the past two months.

However, he reassured the public that the government had now made progress in addressing the setbacks.

Aiyedatiwa also expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their unwavering support and emphasized the importance of truth in their stance.

Additionally, he offered prayers for the swift recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who recently embarked on another medical leave to Germany.

Akeredolu, who had previously sought medical treatment in Germany, returned to the country but chose to remain at his residence in Ibadan instead of resuming his gubernatorial duties.

Akeredolu made the headlines with his return when he sacked all the media aides attached to the office of the deputy governor over alleged insubordination and flagrance disregard to the appropriate authority, according to a source.

However, the political crisis in the state between only deepened with the impeachment proceeding initiated against Aiyedatiwa, a move which was terminated following the intervention of President Bola Tinubu in November, although parties refused to withdraw their court cases.
