Mr. Oseloka Obaze, a prominent member of the Labour Party and a former secretary to the government of Anambra State, has responded to the state government’s recent demolition of residential properties in several areas of Lagos State.
“The metaphorical dismantling and demolition of the Nigerian Nation has commenced,” Mr. Oseloka Obaze declared in response, pointing out that there is implicit conspiratorial silence.
Speaking further, the Labour Party Chieftain made it known that Nigerians should not ask how it all started and how we got where we are today. Mr Oseloka Obaze went on and stated it clearly each demolished building was statutorily approved, noting that the buildings have C of O and structural plans.
Mr Oseloka Obaze made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle, while reacting to the recent demolition of some buildings at Festac phase two.
Mr Obaze wrote: “The metaphorical dismantling & demolition of the Nigerian Nation has commenced: there is a tacit conspiratorial silence. Let’s not ask later how did it begin or how we get here? Each demolished building was statutorily approved: CofO, + building & structural plans.”
It should be recalled that the Lagos State government recently demolished hundreds of houses located at Festac phase 2, in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State. According to report, the owners of these houses were not compensated after their houses were demolished.
