Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has showered praise on the Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, following their 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.

The Englishman secured the victory for Ruben Amorim’s men just six minutes after Cody Gakpo restored parity for Liverpool in the 78th minute of the game.

Moments after the full-time whistle, the Super Falcons striker took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to salute the England international.

What Asisat Oshoala Wrote

“Na why we dey call am GOAT…e dey always turn up,” she wrote, loosely translated to “That’s why we call him the greatest of all time,”

Oshoala’s post came shortly after Maguire’s late header sealed Manchester United’s first Premier League win at Anfield since 2016.

Manchester United vs. Liverpool: What Happened?

The commanding centre-back rose highest in the 84th minute to power home the decisive goal, which broke Liverpool’s hearts after Cody Gakpo had leveled the score.

Bryan Mbeumo had earlier opened the scoring for United just a minute into the game, where he capitalized on a defensive lapse from the hosts.

Despite Liverpool dominating large portions of the match, hitting the woodwork multiple times and mounting relentless pressure, Maguire’s defensive solidity proved vital in helping United secure back-to-back league victories under manager Amorim.

The result plunged Arne Slot’s Liverpool deeper into crisis, making it their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.

The Manchester Club will be hoping to keep up their performance when they face Brighton & Hove Albion in their next clash, while Liverpool will be aiming to secure their first victory after four defeats.
