Osun 2026 Shock: Why APC Candidate Says Every Iwo Resident Must Reject Adeleke

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke does not deserve any bite from Iwo town because the governor has allegedly forsaken the town and his people.

Oyebamiji made this known while addressing the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, other traditional rulers, chiefs, party loyalists and other stakeholders at the monarch’s palace in Iwo while his campaign train stormed the town on Thursday.

Although Oyebamiji acknowledged that the administration of Adeleke had embarked on road projects, he was quick to dismiss the efforts, saying they were belated and assured that he would complete the projects if voted as governor.

He further claimed that Adeleke had forsaken neighbouring towns and villages in the ancient city of Iwo and had failed to give Iwo people whose houses were demolished for road expansion sufficient compensation.

The APC flagbearer promised to settle affected house owners in the town handsomely once voted into power.

He promised to put an end to the recurring community boundary crisis in the area, especially the face-off between Osun and Oyo States over land boundary. “My promise to Iwo people is that I am going to handle it, sort it out, and end it permanently,” he vowed.

“We have seen road construction, but unfortunately, the owner of the assets that were demolished have not received fair compensation. They will be compensated fairly and equitably.

None of our residents in Iwo should vote for the Accord Party and the reason is that they have been in government for over three years and they didn’t remember Iwo land but when the election was coming, they brought a road and that road, it is I, Bola Oyebamiji that will complete that road,” the gubernatorial hopeful declared.

He further promised that his administration will repair all access and linking roads.

“I want our Kabiyesi and our chiefs to be rest assured that by the grace of God, you will enjoy the government of Bola Oyebamiji, we won’t deprive you of your entitlement.

Our government will not concentrate the state resources on a particular town, we will take care of everyone,” the former Commissioner for Finance told Oluwo and other royal fathers in attendance.

Responding, Oba Akanbi asked Oyebamiji to kneel down, face his throne and say his intentions, saying the candidate was before a “throne of power” and that whatever he asked would be answered by the Almighty God.

The APC candidate immediately knelt before Oluwo’s throne, said quite prayers and stood to resume his seat. Then, the traditional declared that all Oyebamiji’s silent prayers would be answered and that his dream of governing Osun would be actualised.

Addresing journalists, Oluwo said, “The APC candidate is here today to tell my people what he wants to do for the people, and he has sworn to do better.

My people have listened to him and I have blessed him with the power of God Almighty that I have, so everything is left to God Almighty and I believe God will hear his prayers.”
