PDP Caucus Meeting Concludes Without Resolution; Governors, Board of Trustees, and Saraki Scheduled to Meet Today

The National Caucus meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday ended without reaching a resolution.Meanwhile, the Governors’ Forum, the Board of Trustees (BoT) leadership, and a peace committee led by former Senate President Bukola Saraki are scheduled to meet today (Tuesday) to determine the next steps regarding the stalled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
Following nearly three hours of deliberation in Abuja, PDP acting National Chairman Umar Damagum informed journalists that the caucus would reconvene this morning at 10 am. He stated, “As you can see, we just adjourned our meeting for today (Monday) until tomorrow (today) at 10 am. The meeting will continue. We have set up a small committee that will submit a report, and tomorrow morning, we will resume.”
When asked if the NEC meeting would proceed as scheduled, Damagum replied, “We will answer that question after our meeting tomorrow (today).”
Sources present at the caucus told Punch that the session was adjourned to allow Saraki’s panel to meet with some party leaders overnight. A party insider revealed, “The meeting has been adjourned until Tuesday. Tonight, some party leaders will meet, and Saraki’s panel will also hold discussions and present solution reports tomorrow.”
These reports are expected to pave the way for renewed peace negotiations and decide whether the NEC meeting can be held as planned. If not, a new date for the NEC gathering will be announced.
