Ibrahim Abdullahi, the deputy national publicity secretary for the People’s Democratic Party, has come forward to claim that the tribunal’s justices ought to have declared the 2023 presidential election invalid and requested a new one.
Recall that just two days ago, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal court validated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win by dismissing the petitions filed by the opposition parties and their candidates? In response to the news, Abdullahi said in an interview that aired this morning on Arise TV that the PDP is shocked by the judges’ judgment that there were nothing unusual in the presidential election.
According to his word: “Numerous pieces of evidence were presented by both sides in an effort to have the election overturned. It would have made a lot of sense for the judges to throw out the election and call for a new one. It comes as a surprise to us that the judges have ruled that the election is legitimate in every sense. The shock has not yet worn off”
