Peter Obi donates N60 million to university, nursing school in Anambra state

As part of his mantra of supporting future generations, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has donated N60 million to a university and a nursing school in Anambra state.

The former Anambra state governor stated that the donation aligns with his “unwavering belief that health and education are veritable ways of pulling people out of poverty and that these sectors are critical to development in a New Nigeria.”

Writing on his social media pages, Obi said: “I paid a visit to the Peter University, Achina, Anambra State, where I gave them my financial support of N50 million.

“Thereafter, I visited the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi Nnukwu, where I made an additional donation of N10 million.

“These visits and support gestures are in line with our unwavering commitment to building a productive nation, through encouragement and support in the critical sectors of health, education and poverty eradication.

“I have constantly maintained that no nation develops without a healthy and educated workforce. With Nigeria having a predominantly youthful population, we must continue to prioritize the future of our youths by investing in these critical areas.

“By so doing, we will build a nation of healthy and educated citizens who are productively contributing to the growth and development of the nation.”

Obi has so far donated over N300 million of his money to religious, health and educational institutions after the 2023 elections.
