Peter Obi, El-rufai Planning To Join SDP, Tackle Tinubu In 2027 – Atiku’s Ex-Aide, Bwala Says

Daniel Bwala, a former spokesman of the defunct Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, has alleged that former Vice President and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is planning to join forces with former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Bwala’s claim comes amidst the Nigerian Labour Congress’s decision to assume control of the Labour Party from Julius Abure’s leadership. Taking to X, Bwala suggested that this coalition wouldn’t cause sleepless nights for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

He wrote, “Peter Obi allegedly planning to unite with El-Rufai in Social Democratic Party as Nigerian Labour Congress set to take ownership of their political party.”

This development coincides with El-Rufai’s recent visit to the SDP headquarters in Abuja, where he met with SDP National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam. Gabam praised El-Rufai as a transformational leader, emphasizing Nigeria’s need for such leaders.

El-Rufai’s visit to the SDP has raised eyebrows, especially considering his affiliation with the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was warmly received by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) members during his consultation visit.
