Peter Obi Is My Brother, I Expected Him To Call Me When He Joined Our Party – Callistus Okafor

Callistus Okafor, the self-declared interim national chairman of the party, has accused Peter Gregory Obi of snubbing him when the former Anambra Governor originally joined the party back in 2022, as the ongoing leadership fight within the Labour Party assumes a new dimension with each passing day.

In an interview on Monday’s episode of ‘News Night’ on ARISE TV, Okafor, who stated that he had been vying for the party’s leadership since 2021, insisted that Obi had the opportunity to settle the leadership dispute between him and Julius Abure when he first joined the party but instead chose to disregard it.

“I have read the comments people are making on social media, asking why I am only coming out now,” he declared. But I do want people to know that Obi joined the Labour Party in May 2022, and I went to the Federal High Court in December 2021. This implies that I had already been in court for six months when he showed up.

If a candidate joins a party, Obi is my elder brother and my leader, and he is aware that his brother from Anambra State is a member of this party. I want everyone to pay attention to this. And he is aware that there is a difficulty. Tell me, why didn’t Obi call to meet me and hear my side of the story, even if he had seen Abure as his brother from Anambra? He didn’t, though. Peter Obi, who I know, might have wanted to see me and find out what was going on, but some people asked him not to because they didn’t want him to advance.
