The campaigns for the 2023 elections have kicked off and politicians have been testing their popularity across the country.

On Saturday, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party (NNPP), stormed Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano, and he was welcomed by a mammoth crowd.

As his convoy arrived, the people, most of who wore red caps, Kwankwaso’s insignia, shouted and sang solidarity songs.

Some candidates of the party in the 2023 elections also identified with the crowd.

In a tweet, Kwankwaso expressed gratitude to the people for the support.

“I am grateful to the @OfficialNNPPng stakeholders and our supporters who went out, today, to express their solidarity with us, in Sumaila Local Government of Kano State. I feel the pulse of your vibrant support from afar. Thank you!”

On the same day, supporters of Peter Obi, Labour Party Presidential Candidate, held solidarity rallies across the country.
