Police Detain 6 Vandals & Cultists Over Electric Cables in Anambra!

A joint security team comprising operatives of the Anambra State Police Command in collaboration with the state vigilante group – Udo Ga Achi, has arrested four suspects in connection with vandalisation of electric cables at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko (Okopoly) in Orumba-North local government area of the state.

During the operation which was carried out on Tuesday, following a distress call, operatives also recovered some electrical cables alleged to have been vandalised by the suspects at the institution.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga who confirmed the arrests and recoveries, listed the names of the suspects as Chukwuka Usulor, Chukwuemeka Michael, Ikenna Oke and Ebuka Oke.

He further stated that the security team also arrested two suspected cultists said to be members of the Beggars’ Confraternity in Oko community.

The Command’s spokesman stated that the two suspects – Anagor Chinedu and Anagor Rapuluchukwu, both males and aged 25 and 23 years respectively, were arrested at Ifite Village in Oko community.

Ikenga said that an English Beretta pistol was recovered from the suspects, who according to him, confessed to belonging to the cult group.

The PPRO also stated that the suspects named one individual nicknamed ‘Kiss Me’ as their armourer.

Commissioner of Police of the Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu has ordered the security team to dislodge the cultists, and ensure the arrest of the suspected armourer.

Ikenga added that CP Orutugu has launched simultaneous operations to be carried out in each of the three senatorial zones of the state to deny criminals the space to operate anywhere in the state.
