Two children of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were joined in marriage on Friday in Abuja during ceremonies held at the National Mosque.
Naija News reports that the weddings brought together close family members, friends, and well-known figures who came to witness the union of the couples.
Atiku’s daughter, Hafsat Atiku, was married to Umar Farouk Imam.
The marriage was conducted by General Aliyu Gusau, who is known to be a longtime associate and family friend.
On the same day, Atiku’s son, Abubakar Atiku Jr, also got married to Asma’u Abdul’aziz Nyako.
The ceremony was overseen by Alhaji Kwairanga Jada, another trusted friend of the family.
After the ceremonies, Atiku shared a message on his official X page where he expressed joy over the weddings and appreciation to everyone who took part in making the day successful.
He explained that the marriages would further deepen family relationships, especially the bond with his elder brother, Admiral Murtala Nyako, and his longtime friend, Kashim Ibrahim Imam.
The former vice president also congratulated the couples and prayed for peace, love, and happiness in their homes, while thanking guests for honouring the family with their presence and support.
According to him, the event was a special moment that brought unity, celebration, and lasting memories for the family and all who attended.
