The remark comes amidst controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s recent trip from the United Kingdom to France.
President Tinubu departed Abuja on October 2 for a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom, announced as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
However, his sudden trip to France sparked public interest and speculation.
Clarifying the situation, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, stated that President Tinubu is not limited to the UK for his two-week leave.
“President Tinubu is on leave for two weeks. He is not restricted to the UK. It is his private time. He can go anywhere he so desires. He is still observing his leave,” Onanuga said.
Before departing for France, President Tinubu engaged in “productive discussions” with his Special Assistant, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, at his private residence in the UK.
Masari revealed the meeting via his verified X handle, saying they discussed important matters before heading to Paris.
The President’s initial departure for the UK was announced as a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.
