Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a group in the southeast on Friday, reacted to the statement made by a member of the APC in the person of Adamu Garba. The group maintained that the death of the queen of England is very sad but many people have attached different meanings to it.
Speaking about the statement made by a former presidential aspirant of the APC, Ohanaeze Ndigbo asked that the presidential villa, Aso Rock be named after the late queen of England.
The statement of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is coming a few hours after Adamu Garba maintained that a university in the southeast should be named after the queen.
After the announcement of the death of the queen, many concerned individuals reacted in different ways. The report revealed that Adamu Garba reacted to the death while urging the Nigerian government to change the name of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to that of the late queen.
In reaction to what Adamu Garba suggested, Ohanaeze Ndigbo maintained that the University should be left alone but what should be done at the moment is for the Nigerian government to rename the presidential villa after the late queen.
According to a report from Daily Post, the spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday sent a message to the Nigerian government and a Nigerian politician identified as Adamu Garba.
The group in response to the statement made by the politician insisted that the queen was known for many things when she was alive and in other for her memories to live on, the Nigerian government should reject the suggestions made by Adamu Garba but rather find a way to name Aso Rock after the queen.
