On Tuesday, the APC’s candidate for governor, Mr. Tonye Cole, filed a petition, but the Appeal Court in Lagos upheld the election of Mr. Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of Rivers State.
The Appeal Court found that the petition filed by Mr. Tonye Cole, the APC candidate for governor of Rivers State, against Siminalayi Fubara, the PDP candidate, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was without merit.
Following declaration of the PDP governorship Candidate, Mr Fubara, as the winner of the March 18 Governorship election in Rivers State, the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Labour Party, LP, filled a petition before the Tribunal to challenge the declaration of the PDP candidate as the winner of the election.
